Augustin Sabatié-Garat joined RM Europe in 2012 as a senior car specialist, after more than a decade in the collector car hobby. Graduating from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Project Management, Augustin also served as a classic car consultant during his academic years. In 2002, Augustin joined Artcurial in Paris, France, as a junior car specialist, playing an integral role in the Rolf Meyer Mercedes Auction. His extensive experience in the auction business also includes a role in Sotheby’s 2005 Maranello Auction. Fluent in French, English, and Italian, Augustin specializes in numerous European marques, including Ferrari, post-war Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Hispano-Suiza, Jaguar, and Citroën. He is also knowledgeable of Aston Martin, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Austin-Healey, and Riva (boats). Fully immersed in the classic car hobby, Augustin regularly attends classic car rallies throughout Europe and practices his mechanical proficiency by restoring the cars in his collection.
